Flex IT’s primary goal is to lengthen the life cycle of IT hardware products. When the end of that cycle does arrive, we dispose of the materials in a responsible way. Flex IT strives to build long-lasting relationships with our clients. After selling a product, we then want to include the client in our circular journey. Our entire product portfolio contributes to the circular economy, albeit directly (circular, rent) or indirectly (new). The only difference between a new Flex IT product and a circular Flex IT product is its phase in the circular journey.
The first step in the Circular journey has always been the sale of a new product somewhere in our supply chain.
We do not just sell IT products, we sell a circular IT journey with several possible entry points (New, EOL, Rent, ITAD).
Circular products can be defined in several ways, such as refurbished or remanufactured. The concept remains largely the same: produce products while using resources from previously used/discarded/obsolete products and/ or waste. This contributes to reducing E-waste, plastic pollution, CO2 emissions and the re-use of precious materials.
With circular IT we refer to the circular economy which is based on the principles of designing out waste and pollution, keeping products and materials in use, and regenerating natural systems. The circular economy breaks the linear system of produce → use → throw away.
The quality of Circular IT products has strongly improved over the years. Thanks to the implementation of structured production processes and quality control (for both new and refurbished devices), the quality becomes such that circular products can have the same warranty as new IT hardware. This ensures the best possible user experience and makes Circular IT adoptable for every (high) tech environment.
There is a Chinese proverb: “the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.”
The fact it that Flex IT was doing this almost 30 years ago! Our story started in 1991, with a small shop in the Netherlands that repaired IT products and gave them a new life. Over time that small shop transformed into the leading Circular IT vendor in Europe.
Circular computing has always been our raison d’être. We identified the relevance of circularity and our responsibility to carefully handle raw materials all those years ago, but it took a while for the market and society in general to catch up. However, today it is clear that the circular economy is now becoming a reality.
In today’s market there is no IT challenge we can’t solve with a Circular IT solution. We are able to offer the widest and all-encompassing range of circular IT-products of any vendor in the market. We are committed to ensuring that we find the best IT solution that will meet the requirements of our channel partners and customers.
